Public support will determine whether we're about to see the first significant local authority shake up for many decades.
The commissioners of Laxey, Lonan and Maughold have been working together to explore the potential for creating a single Garff authority.
They say it would allow greater control over finances, improved efficiency and quality of service.
The public have been kept in the loop throughout the discussions with a final meeting set to be held next Wednesday.
