Hundreds of people attended a recent viewing for the lighthouse, with numerous bids submitted.

 

Despite strong support and financial backing from the public the charity were unable to secure the highest bid. 

 

Coordinator Bill Dale says they are still on the lookout for a central base in the north of the Island, with some prime locations already scouted.

 

He says he's been overwhelmed by their supporters.
