Irresponsible dog owners have left a Grenaby farmer nearly £300 out of pocket.
Yesterday morning he found three of his sheep had been mauled overnight by what police believe was a mid to large size dog.
The sheep suffered deep puncture wounds to their necks and were left in a high state of distress.
Officers say farmers can, and will, take action against animals which they catch worrying their sheep.
