Tributes are being paid to a "remarkable man" who was one of the Island's "real characters".
Known to many as the voice of Manx farming John Kennaugh died yesterday after a short battle with cancer.
It's a sentiment echoed by His Honour Deemster Doyle who's also paid tribute to the 77-year-old who served as a magistrate between 1983 and 2007.
He says the St John's man made a significant contribution to the administration of justice on the Island and gained much satisfaction in encouraging youngsters to lead law-abiding lives.
John, he says, can rest in the knowledge that he led his life to the full and made an "outstanding contribution" to the local community.
