A Douglas woman who wrongly claimed over £3,600 in benefits she wasn't entitled to has been handed a probation order.
33-year-old Roisin Devlin was sentenced at Douglas Courthouse earlier this week - she'd previously admitted six counts of making false representations.
She failed to declare she'd taken up part-time employment and continued to cash Income Support payments between February 2014 and April this year.
The court heard she'd originally been in legitimate receipt of the support but failed to alert the authorities that her circumstances had changed.
Sentencing her Deputy High Bailiff Jayne Hughes said the 18-month order was a direct alternative to custody.
Devlin has also been ordered to pay back the overpayment in full.
