Excellent results at Sinclair

With perfect weather conditions, the penultimate rounds of all three Isle of Man Shooting Club’s weekly matches managed to get underway on time on Monday evening and once again, the ‘inform’ Andy Potter led the way in the Osborn Carpets 2nd 600 posting a terrific 590 x 600, with Tom Lord claiming second on countback from Richard Arthur in third position both hitting 584. Just a single ‘full house’ was scored from the fifteen shooters and that went to veteran shooter, Tom Lord who had extremely constant series throughout the match. It was great to see an old face back on the firing line – Trevor Taubman and he had a good result landing fifth position on 581, an excellent score considering that he has hardly touched a rifle for years due to his involvement with administration in the IoM Commonwealth Games Association.

Fifteen year old Jones wins his second medal in the Empire Garage Tynwald Shield

The junior shooters this season have shown that dedication and practice prevails and it is pleasing to see many of the clubs competitions have been won by the teenage element. This week was no exception as a delighted fifteen year old Sam Jones, collected his winning medal with a personal best score by four points of 560 + 51 handicap, in the Empire Garage Tynwald Shield match with two other juniors Christian Eaton and Illiam Christian, claiming second and third into the bargain.

Illiam Christian takes round 17 of the Sadler Junior Championship

Illiam Christian produced an excellent series of scores to secure round 17 of the Sadler Junior Championship in a field of five, from Thomas Clague in second and Sam Jones in third.
