Potential dog owners are being told to do their research thoroughly before taking on a new pet.
The ManxSPCA says the number of dogs presenting with dangerous behavioural problems is increasing - the charity works to address that behaviour and re-home them.
This week a Douglas woman was fined over £1,000 for keeping two dangerous dogs that were not kept under proper control after her huskies savaged another dog in Castletown in March.
