A pensioner from Peel has been given a 12-month conditional discharge after stealing from his local pharmacy.
65-year-old Geoffrey Bayle was spotted putting toiletries, candles and a set of weighing scales into his wheeled walking frame on August 5th.
The CCTV from Cowley Pharmacy on Michael Street was reviewed by police who later retrieved the goods from his home address.
At Douglas Courthouse earlier this week Bayle pleaded guilty to one count of theft - he'd told officers who arrested him he was "very sorry for his actions".
Sentencing him Deputy High Bailiff Jayne Hughes told him he needed to be "very careful" adding he should "keep on the right side of the pharmacy" which is where he gets a regular prescription.
She also ordered him to pay prosecution costs of £125 - leaving the court Bayle told her "I hope I'll never see you again".
