Should cold calling be banned on the Isle of Man?
A public consultation has been launched to review a Bill making it an offence for a trader to secure a contract for the sale of goods using that method.
It's to put a stop to 'doorstep pressure' from underhand tradesmen following a spate of bad practice - particularly from the home improvements sector.
The consultation is open until September 25th - the document can be found on the OFT website.
Chief officer at the Office of Fair Trading Mike Ball says legitimate businesses advocating cold calling can submit their views as part of the process:
