Recycling saving Port St Mary residents thousands of pounds
Thu, 30 Jul 2015
Recycling efforts in Port St Mary are saving ratepayers tens of thousands of pounds.
This month 5.86 tonnes of waste was recycled - bringing the total to 74.6 tonnes in the nine months the project has been operating.
The amount of refuse tipped at the Energy for Waste Plant fell by 13.5 tonnes in a year.
Port St Mary Commissioners say this means they are on target to save residents £12,000 in tipping charges.
