Island NHS sick leave cases higher than the UK

More sick days are taken by NHS doctors and nurses here than in the UK.

That's according to the Health and Social Care Minister who doesn't believe the staff are necessarily at fault.

14 per cent of doctors and 31.5 per cent of nurses were absent for seven days or more between April 1st last year and March 31st this year.
