Arson case adjourned as psychiatric report is collated

A prisoner accused of arson has had his case adjourned whilst further psychiatric information is collated.

32-year-old Alistair Cowin appeared at Douglas Courthouse earlier this week via live video link.

He's been charged with two counts of common assault which allegedly took place at the Isle of Man Prison on January 5th and 6th.

He's also accused of four counts of arson between January 6th and 8th - again it's claimed these took place at the Jurby facility.

The case has now been adjourned for four weeks - Cowin will appear again on video link on August 11th.
