Teen denies dangerous driving on Mountain Road

A teenager who was spotted overtaking on the Mountain Road by an off-duty police officer has denied a charge of dangerous driving.
19-year-old Thomas Atherton appeared at Douglas Courthouse earlier this week where he entered a not guilty plea.
It's alleged that Atherton was seen at 7.35am on May 7th overtaking in his Ford Transit Van which was displaying 'R' plates - the traffic was already said to be travelling at 50mph.
The Ramsey man was later stopped by a patrol car, and interviewed, telling a uniformed officer he was "in a rush to get to work".
The case has now been adjourned for a pre-trial review to take place on August 25th.
