Utilities authority issue electrical storm protection advice

People are being urged to take steps to protect their properties from lightning damage.
In light of recent stormy conditions the Manx Utilities Authority is reminding people that damage to items is not covered by warranties or repair contracts.
If a storm hits people are being told to unplug all electrical and telephone sockets and avoid using sinks and taps - as metallic water pipes conduct electricity.
We spoke to Met Office forecaster Kirsty Pendlebury - she explains why there's been so many storms in the last week:
