Only a handful of archers turned up at Greeba for the first shoot after TT. The weather conditions were poor to start with but brightened up in the afternoon. The wind remained tricky throughout the day creating difficulties for the archers.
The enforced break in shooting due to TT might have been expected to have had an impact upon the scores at the weekend but in fact the standard was pretty high. In the Gents Compound division Dave Moore faced off against son Rhys shooting a Long Metric (3 dozen arrows at each of 2 distances 90m and 70m). Rhys was easily pushed into second place by Dave who not only set a new personal best score for the round but broke the Club Record by 12 points as well.
In the Ladies Compound division Sarah Rigby shot a Long Metric I (3 dozen arrows at each of 2 distances 70m and 60m) for the first time. In spite of the conditions Sarah broke the Club Record for the round by 13 points.
In the Ladies Recurve, Karen Lott made light of the conditions to set a new personal best score for the round and looks to be in excellent form ahead of the Island Games in Jersey later this month.
