Just 3 days to go to the Niamh Challenge Cup

Wed, 27 May 2015

The Niamh Challenge Cup takes place this Saturday 30th & Sunday 31st May

CONIFA have sanctioned the tournament, the winner gaining automatic entry to the 2016 CONIFA World Football Cup.

The four competing teams will be Ellan Vannin, Felvidek (Upper Hungary), Panjab FA and Alderney. The matches will be held on Saturday 30th May and Sunday 31st May at the Bowl in Douglas.

As only three teams are sure to qualify for next years World Cup from the Euros, Ellan Vannin are hopeful that local support will prove to be the twelfth man and urge the Manx lads onto victory and a place in the World Football Cup next year.

As well as an International Football tournament this will be a family affair with various entertainment and attractions, both on and off the pitch, between the games as well as the usual food outlets.

We are also delighted that NIAMH’s parents Chris and Sam Curry will be present at the tournament along with her sister Hannah. We are sure that the Isle of Man will support the fantastic work their charity,http://www.niamhsnextstep.com, is doing in memory of their daughter.

The tournament will commence at 11.30am on the Saturday with Felvidek v Alderney and then at 2.30pm Ellan Vannin v Panjab.

Sunday will see the two runners up from Saturday's matches kick off at 2PM with the Final at 5PM.

Tickets are available online at www.ManxIFA.org/tickets, Intersport, Strand Street or on the gate but to ensure that you avoid queuing pre purchase is advised.
