Fire crews were presented with a unique challenge whilst battling a blaze this morning.
Teams from Kirk Michael and Peel were alerted to reports of an oil boiler fire; upon arrival they realised the garage was completely blocked with storage items.
After forcing entry the crew found a female inside the property, unaware of the developing fire; she was safely removed from the building.
After the oil tank was shut down the boiler had its power isolated; the fire was then totally extinguished with the boiler 'damped down'.
Once Manx Gas gave the adjoining properties the all clear for carbon monoxide issues, the fire crews packed up and left.
There were no injuries reported.
