Safety fence to protect scouts during TT

£27,000 has been spent on a new safety fence which will protect scouts working on the TT Scoreboard.

The 3.5 metre barrier will provide high strength resistance in the event of a collision on Glencrutchery Road.

The mesh will catch any impacting objects and absorb the initial impact energy before transferring it to the reinforcing ropes and posts.

Clerk of the course Gary Thompson says the decision was made following a risk assessment last year:
