Ayre Clay target club hosted competitions in two disciplines at Blue Point on Sunday. There were two league shoots in Olympic Trap and ISSF Skeet, both sponsored by Top Spec Fencing.
Neil Parsons won the Trap, shooting 45/50. Jeff Fargher was second on 43 with Phil Ward third on 38.
James Bradley and Nigel Kelly tied for honours in the Skeet, shooting 47/50. David Clague was third on 45.
The 100 target Trap Selection was also the CopyCat Trophy shoot. Jeff Fargher, shortly to participate in his first Island Games in Jersey won this with 88. Neil Parsons was second on 87 with Phil Ward third on 78. The winner of the Trap Olympic Final was Phil Ward, having had a sudden death shoot off with David Wilfy Walton. Parsons beat Fargher in the Bronze match by 12 targets to 11.
Bradley went on to finish top after 100 Skeet with 90. Clague was second on 89 with Glenn Catlin third on 80. Jeff Corkill won the Gold match on 13 from junior shooter Michael Cross who scored 12 to take silver.
This week at Blue Point is 50/100 English Skeet sponsored by Penketh-Millar Architectural Design. Entries close at 10.15am.
