The Department of Infrastructure says work must to be done to ensure the Island isn't impacted by the level of travel disruption experienced over Easter.
Minister Phil Gawne has held talks with Steam Packet management in response to the public outcry in an effort to mitigate any future disruption.
Referencing both the Manannan's mechanical issues and the weather disrupted flight schedule, Minister Gawne says circumstances conspired against the operators.
Despite this he says it is clear that more communication was needed with those affected by the travel disruption:
