Police say a taxi driver in Port St Mary has been left out of pocket after a corrosive substance was poured over her car.
They are now appealing for help in catching the person responsible for damaging the silver Audi whilst it was parked in an underground car park on Gellings Avenue.
It happened between 10.30pm last Friday and 8am the next day - the liquid, described as similar to paint stripper, was poured over every panel.
Officers say the vehicle's paintwork is so damaged it will need a full re-spray meaning it will be off the road for a significant amount of time.
Local residents are also being asked to check their gardens for any discarded containers - anyone with information can contact Castletown Police Station.
