A quarter of inmates at the Isle of Man Prison have needed help for drug and alcohol related problems.
The figure could even be greater than that, with the statistics collated based on people who admitted a problem upon arrival.
Currently 14 inmates are prescribed methadone.
The findings were revealed in the House of Keys earlier this week following a series of questions posed by Onchan MHK Zac Hall.
