Hundreds of thousands of pounds has been saved by repatriating UK prisoners.
That's according to the Home Affairs Minister - who says sending people away has generated an annual reserve of around £60 thousand pounds since the move from Victoria Road in 2008.
With a capacity of 144 the Isle of Man Prison holds an average of 90 inmates - currently housing 44 Manx residents, 35 from the UK and one from outside the EU.
