A Castletown man who is accused of murdering a 60-year-old gardener suffered a number of injuries himself.
At Douglas Courthouse today the jury in the trial was given details from doctors who treated 46-year-old Ian Anderson in 2013.
He was taken to hospital by police officers after being arrested at his home address on Queen Street in the early hours of the morning.
Written evidence was read out in court detailing a number of injuries to Anderson’s head, face, neck, chest, hands and feet – including swelling, abrasions and bruising.
Jurors were also shown images of the injuries.
Anderson denies murdering Ballabeg man Neil Roberts in December 2013 – the trial continues.
