Murder Trial: Police footage of scene played in court

Police footage from an alleged murder scene has today been played to a jury at Douglas Courthouse.

It made up part of the prosecution's opening statement in the case against 46-year-old Ian Anderson.

The Castletown man is standing trial for murder - he denies killing 60-year-old Ballabeg man Neil Roberts at his home address on Queen Street in December 2013.

The video - designed to give an overview of the layout of the house - showed Mr Robert's body lying on the living room floor surrounded by blood stained tea towels.

The trial will continue tomorrow when the 12-strong jury will visit the house in person on a site visit.
