Tynwald will be asked this week to defer an aspect of the long awaited Countryside Care Scheme.
It's the 'active farmer' requirement, that means payments will only go direct to those managing land and carrying out agricultural activities as opposed to just the landowners, that will be put back by a year.
It will allow the businesses more time to adjust to the changes.
