"Myths" surrounding the National Insurance Fund should be dispelled and future recommendations need to be considered outside of government.
That's the message from Douglas West MHK Chris Thomas - who is challenging the Treasury Minister to put it to a Select Committee.
This method of deciding on how government plays out vital reform measures has been applied to the Landlord and Tenant Bill and rates in the recent past.
Mr Thomas says there's prejudice in how it's been formulated so decisions should be made by an external party:
