Government statistics on the Island's aging population are flawed - which doesn't inspire trust or confidence in the future.
That's according to the vice-chair of the University of the Third Age, Ravina Talbot, who says the current direction of change is based on outdated research
The organisation has put the spotlight on solutions that might help the system including changing laws governing the workplace and modernising social housing.
She explains why she believes a representative for older people should be appointed to liaise between both parties:
