Keep your dogs on a lead around livestock

Dog owners are being reminded to keep their pets on a lead around livestock.

Police in the south of the Island were called to an incident of sheep worrying in Colby yesterday.

A distressing photograph circulating on social media shows a ram with serious facial injuries after being bitten by a dog.

It had to be put down by a vet.

Officers say farmers are within their rights to protect their animals if dogs are found on their land.
