Older people now don't need to go off-Island to treat a chronic eye disease.
Minister for Health and Social Care Howard Quayle says he's stopped people having to travel for the purpose of correcting wet macular degeneration.
Early detection can stop the affliction causing vision loss in the center of a person's field of sight.
In the past, Manx residents have had to travel to the UK for treatment before journeying back to the Island on the same day.
