Terrific scores at Sinclair
Sinclair Range at St Johns was the venue for the league match on Monday evening when IoMSC Sandsiders hosted their IoM Shooting Club rivals, IoMSC Douglas. The “visitors” Division 1 team produced the highest score of the season to date with 494 x 500. Recorded scores were Andy Potter hitting 100, (which matches Julian Teare’s double hundred during the season), Mike Clague and Mike Thompson both on 99 and Mike Duncalf and Nick Brown posting 98 each. Clague contested his score of 99 as he felt a 100 could be a possibility, which would be a valuable point for his individual and double hundred competitions. His card is to be marked by the competition team and if successful, he will be the third competitor in the “Double 100” match. Ironically the Douglas teams Division 2 score also beat Sandsiders Division 1 score by 9 points! The hosts were disappointed with their scores of 472 in Division 1 and 443 for Division 2. In Division 1, Bill Jones, Tony Kneale and teenager Matthew Roosen all hit 95.

Kirk Michael claim valuable points against Laxey
Kirk Michael Rifle Club, who have been struggling for members of late, took some valuable points off the 2014 IoM Rifle Association Champions, Laxey, at their home match on Monday evening. A consistent series of scores in Division 1 from Kevin Quinn and David Lord on 96 and Suzanne McKnight, Tom Lord and Junior shooter, Illiam Christian all on 95 gave the home team 477 x 500 from the visitors rather disappointing score of 475. Harry Creevy, continuing his excellent season, was the highest score for Laxey on 98 with a terrific 97 from junior shooter, James Hewison to match his personal best. Kirk Michael claimed the Division 2 points in addition.
