A man found fishing in a restricted area has been fined £900 and £125 of costs.
Police stopped Peter Glover on the beach at The Lhen in his vehicle and searched him on 30 November 2014.
Mr Glover was fined £400 for fishing with a net and £400 for being in possession of that net for purpose of catching two sea bass in the area.
For driving onto the beach, he was fined £100 - plus an additional £125 of costs under section 28 of the Road Traffic Act 1985.
