Pre-conceptions about the Island's ageing population will be tackled at a public meeting next week.
The Positive Action Group and the Island's University of the Third Age will team up on Monday.
It follows comments made by the Chief Minister in his Progress Report in October last year which outlined that the cost of care for over 80s will jump to £50 million over the next 20 years.
