Businesses employing workers without permits should be reported immediately.
That's the view of the Economic Development Minister who was quizzed in the House of Keys yesterday on work permits given to EU migrants.
Onchan MHK David Quirk wanted to know what lines of inquiry are followed up before each application is approved.
The department investigates whether or not jobs can be filled by resident workers, pay, criminal convictions and gaps in work history.
