Another bid to reform the way Legislative Council elections are conducted has been launched.
This week Onchan MHK Peter Karran will take steps to introduce a new Bill which, if successful, would see significant changes made from 2018.
Under his proposals prospective MLC's would be voted in by the public, would no longer be allowed to serve in departmental roles and would have pay and conditions of employment amended.
He says the current system needs a major shakeup:
