Communities in flood prone areas must decide if they want to accept the consequences of extreme weather - or do something about it.
Public meetings have been called to discuss defence options against harbour flooding and coastal overtopping.
The Department of Infrastructure is working on long-term solutions to try and reduce the social and economic impact of flooding.
Current plans indicate £32 million of funding will be needed to implement things like raised harbour walls and tidal gates - we asked Minister Phil Gawne if that money was available:
