Terrific shooting at Sinclair for IoMSC Douglas
IoMSC Douglas matched Division 1 leaders Sulby’s, top score so far this season when they took all the points in the three Divisions at Sinclair Range on Monday evening. The 493 Division 1 score line involved four 99’s for Andy Potter, Tracey Skelton, Mike Clague and junior shooter, Thomas Clague and a 97 from Martin Burns gave the Division 1 team the score to match the 493 from Sulby on November 17th. Castletown’s top shot went to Robin McFee and a delighted Henry Qualtrough who both hit 97 with John Brewis two points behind on 95.
Although the evening was a success for the three IoMSC Douglas teams, sadness was felt by all team members when they were informed that Club Captain, Dave Humphrey’s mother had passed away the day before. I would like to think that I speak on behalf of all the local shooting fraternity when I say that heartfelt sympathy goes to the Isle of Rifle Associations Secretary David and brother Mark, a well-known and respected local lawyer.

The results this week, reflects no movement in any of the three league positions. In Division 1, Sulby continue their winning sequence week after week and 6 clear points will be extremely difficult for any opposition team to close. Division 2 is a little closer with just 14 aggregate points separating Port St Mary and Sulby but in Division 3, three teams, Sulby, Port St Mary and IoMSC Douglas are all on equal points but once again, the Northern team lead on aggregate points.
