Driving too fast in a 50-mile-per-hour zone last year has cost a Ballabeg man £300.
35-year-old Mervyn Harvey appeared at Douglas Courthouse earlier this week where he pleaded guilty to speeding.
Police, in an unmarked car, followed his jaguar on the St Marks to Braiid road at around 8.30am on August 26th - he was travelling at 80 miles per hour.
His advocate said it was an "entirely one off incident" but he did accept he was driving too fast.
Sentencing him Deputy High Bailiff Jayne Hughes fined him £250 with £50 costs and endorsed his driving licence with six penalty points.
