Staff who have lost their jobs due to the closure of Mount Murray are being promised help from government and the Chamber of Commerce.
Yesterday over 30 employees found out that the country club complex - including the hotel and leisure facilities - will shut its doors for the final time next Friday.
The closure has been blamed on protracted negotiations with insurers after a major fire 14 months ago as well as soaring energy bills.
Economic Development Minister Laurence Skelly says it's a prime site and should generate interest from other hotel operators - but the first priority is the workers:
