Government scientists are keeping a close watch on Sellafield as work continues to reduce the hazard and risk it poses.
The Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture is also in contact with the Irish Government and interested party The Celtic League - which has concerns about the decommissioning of its 'pile fuel storage pond'.
The Celtic League has recently received a response, about the nuclear reprocessing site in Cumbria, from the Irish Minister's Office - but doesn't believe enough questions are being asked.
