Despite a dip in callouts lifeboat volunteers spent 140 days at sea in the last year.
RNLI figures show that the rescue vessels were called out 47 times - with crews rescuing 52 people - that's a drop compared to 2013 when 78 people were saved.
The busiest of the Island's stations was Peel - responding to 13 calls for help.
This weekend fundraising events are being held to help raise money for the charity - Mike Howland is from Douglas station and says they always need more people to get involved:
