Government and the private sector are working together to appoint more jobs to Manx workers.
That's the message from the Department of Economic Development following the news that the number of approved work permits has reduced by 9,000 since 2003.
Minister Laurence Skelly says it's because companies want to employ more people living on the Island - who now have better access to training in areas where gaps exist in the market.
He explains that the number of locals suitable for the available posts will only increase:
