Visitor numbers last summer were 10 per cent up on those from the previous year - with tourism now supporting over 4,000 jobs.
Economic Development Minister Laurence Skelly says the "resurge in confidence" in the visitor economy is encouraging.
The increase in numbers has also resulted in a significant spend increase.
He says it has taken three decades for the Island to shake the traditional "bucket and spade" reputation - and there are a number of new developments in the pipeline:
