The Island's Chief Constable says public support is critical in the fight against crime.
In a Tweet posted yesterday Gary Roberts admitted there had been an "unusual amount" of crime in recent weeks.
His comments come after numerous reports of burglaries Island wide.
He says a huge amount of work is being done by officers but it's important for the public to report suspicious activity and to take basic home security precautions.
