The Steam Packet is apologising to passengers whose travel plans have been disrupted after the boat broke.
Ben-my-Chree services were cancelled on Saturday due to a steering fault - they're expected to resume on Wednesday.
However many passengers have been critical of the handling of the situation with criticism that they haven't been able to get through to the call centre to find out what's going on.
Those due to sail from Dublin to Douglas weren't contacted to inform them of what was happening - something the company says it will investigate once normal services are resumed.
The Steam Packet says communication has been lacking due to staffing levels and say it's been a "huge challenge" to draft in extra people to work over the festive period.
