A new eco-friendly campsite which has been inspired by Africa could be created in the south of the Island.
Planning permission has been submitted to erect three safari style lodges to the rear of Beechcroft Farm on Gansey.
The people behind the plans want to create accommodation for holidaymakers who are interested in eco-tourism but who still want their "creature comforts".
Each tent would sleep up to eight people and have en-suite toilet and shower facilities - the campsite would operate between May and October.
Economic Development is supporting the idea saying camping is becoming increasingly popular and there are a lack of facilities in the south.
The application was submitted on December 10th and is currently pending consideration.
