A 20-year-old who refused to take a roadside breath test after being stopped on suspicion of drink driving will be sentenced in January.
At Douglas Courthouse this week Richard Thwaites, of no fixed address, pleaded guilty to one charge of failing to provide a breath sample.
He was stopped by police on Victoria Terrace in Douglas at 2.40am on December 14th.
They'd seen him driving his Vauxhall Vectra at speed with no lights on - when they spoke to him he smelt of intoxicant and he was unsteady on his feet.
Thwaites refused to take a roadside breath test and was arrested, at Police Headquarters he refused to do two further tests.
Social enquiry reports have been requested - the case has now been adjourned until January 15th.
