Eight new student police officers will hit the streets today.
They graduated from training last night - the Isle of Man Constabulary started the drive to recruit more officers in October.
It's hoped they will go some way to alleviate cuts made by the Department of Home Affairs which needs to save £900,000 over the next two years - with cuts to 25 posts earlier this year.
Minister Juan Watterson says they've still got a lot to learn, but it's a positive step forward:
