A Maughold man has been sent to prison for assaulting a pub landlord.
33-year old Ian Brown punched the landlord of the Mines Tavern in Laxey in September.
It stemmed from an attempt from the licensee to calm him down after he'd been having an argument and swearing loudly.
Brown delivered a single punch, which knocked the man unconscious, before making off on foot along the nearby tram tracks - he later pleaded guilty to one charge of ABH.
His defence said that although a heavily convicted man, with a range of violent offences committed over the last 16 years, he has expressed a real desire to change and was genuinely sorry to the victim of the assault.
Deemster Montgomerie accepted this but told him his future looks very bleak if he doesn't change his ways - he sentenced him to 15 months in prison and banned him from licensed premises for 21 months.
