Fire crews deal with living room blaze in Onchan

Fire teams were called out to a blaze in Onchan today.

Upon arriving at the property they descovered thick black smoke issuing from its front.

Crews were met by the householder who informed them that no one else was inside and the fire was contained to the living room.

After the blaze was extinguished it was determined that a log on the coal fire had rolled out, igniting a synthetic Christmas tree.

Crews remained in attendance for approximately 40 minutes to ensure that the property had been well ventilated.
